These are four arenas (5 ice surfaces) located within the City of Charlottetown, with the Charlottetown Parks and Recreation Department directly operating two of the arenas: Simmons Sports Centre and Cody Banks Arena. The remaining two arenas are operated by boards of directors: Eastlink Centre and Capital Area Recreation Inc.

Simmons Sport Centre
simmonsarenaLocated on North River Road, the arena’s primary users include Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association, Charlottetown Figure Skating Club, Charlottetown Ringette Organization, Recreational Leagues, Schools, and the General Public.

The Simmons sports centre features include the following:

4 Dressing Rooms Common Room Parking Spaces
Canteen Facilities Sound System
Box Office  

The main floor surface can accommodate 3,000 people and is available to be booked for a variety of special events during the off-season.

Cody Banks Arena
codybanksarenaLocated in the neighborhood of Sherwood off Maple Avenue, the arena’s primary users include the Sherwood/Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association, Sherwood/Parkdale Skating Club, A&S Scrap Metal Junior B Falcons, Adult Rec Hockey League, Schools and the General Public.

During the off-season the facility is available to be booked for a variety of special events.

The banquet facility, The Maplewood Room, boasts a seating capacity of 220 people with full kitchen and bar facilities available. We host functions such as wedding receptions, anniversary parties and any other special event for which the room is suitable.

 Bell Aliant Centre
carimac1The Capital Area Recreation Inc. Board, better known as the CARI Board, is an arms-length board of directors that including a representative from the City of Charlottetown, University of Prince Edward Island, Town of Stratford, & Charlottetown Y's Mens Club. They oversee the operations of the Bell Aliant Centre.
This facility features an Aquatics facility with a competitive and leisure pool, 2 NHL sized ice surfaces, the Seniors Active Living Centre, Andrews Hockey Growth Programs, East Side Mario's Express, and the UPEI Fitness Centre.

The arena section of the facility includes:

MacLauchlan Arena A - 1,400 Fixed Seating
MacLauchlan Arena B - 400 Fixed Seating
2 Rooms available for Rent Rink A Penalty Box Lounge / Rink B Meeting Room
12 Dressing Rooms
On-site skate sharpening company

Eastlink Centre
civiccentreThe Eastlink Centre is operated by an arms-length board of directors, including a representative from the City of Charlottetown and the province of Prince Edward Island.

The facility is ideally suited to host sporting events, concerts, socials, meetings, and trade show events.

The Eastlink Centre features include the following:

NHL-sized ice surface 85 x 200 31 ft 6'' low steel & 45' high steel
17,000 square ft. floor Portable Arena Deck ice cover
3,717 arena seating & 1000+ portable seating on floor 10 Luxury Suites
800 on-site parking spaces Centre Ice Lounge
7 dressing rooms, 4 canteens, 3 press boxes 2 box offices, online ticketing
Portable 40 x 60 stage and four (4) 6 x 8 risers

There are two (2) 12 x 14 level drive-in doors that access the arena floor. There is adequate parking for three buses outside of the load-in door. If available, the Trade Centre can used as a secure indoor parking area or storage. Forklift/Scissor lift and operator are available.
The lighting system consists of 32 1000-watt metal halide arena lights (providing 90-100 foot candles at ice level), lite Shades
There is also telephone/Fax, Internet and cable access.
The sound system consists of:

The Trade Centre

The Trade Centre's showpiece is its main Exhibition Hall. It covers one full acre and offers great flexibility for event planners. The Trade Centre features include the following:

Event load in for the Trade Centre is located at the front of the building parallel with Kensington Road. There is one (1) level loading dock and three (3) drive-in doors: 12 x 14, 12 x 14 and 18 x 29.

25 ft clearance to low steel.

Forklift/ Scissor lift and operator are available.

For lights and sound system consists of:

PA system
Two (2) portable panels, 100 amp, single phase voltage
One (1) portable panel, 100 amp, 3 phase voltage
Three (3) 100 amp, 3 phase voltage
