What is 9-1-1?
911 is the number used for emergency response to report a fire, crime, or accident that threatens the lives of the citizens of not only the City of Charlottetown but the province of Prince Edward Island.
When should I use 9-1-1?
You should use 9-1-1 only in case of any emergency. If your complaint is not an emergency or you have a general inquiry you should use the following contact numbers in regards to the department you are wanting to contact:

What to do when calling 9-1-1?
The 9-1-1 operator can assist you in your emergency quickly and efficiently if you remember to follow the following gidelines:
1. Give your name, address and phone number
2. Describe, to the best of your ability, what has happened
3. Give the location of the emergency, make sure you give clear and concise directions
4. REMAIN CALM
5. Remain on the line with the operator until you are told to hang up
