The City of Charlottetown, in partnership with The Great Trail and Canada 150, invites the public to attend a special dog-friendly celebration called Dog Day of Summer.

This free, dog-friendly celebration takes place on Saturday, August 26 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event will begin on the section of the Great Trail behind UPEI with a group dog walk along The Great Trail to Orlebar Park. The celebration will continue at Orlebar Park with a healthy BBQ, live music, face painting, InstaBooth pup portraits, a dog treat bag and much more.

The Trans Canada Trail with support from Canadian Heritage has a goal to connect The Great Trail and the country for a grand celebration on August 26, 2017. Communities across Canada will be celebrating the full connection of The Great Trail and Canada's 150th on the same date. Prince Edward Island's portion of the Trans Canada Trail, formally known as the Confederation Trail, will be rebranded as The Great Trail. The Great Trail is the longest multi-use recreational trail in the world, with 24,000 kilometers of trail spanning across 13 Provinces and Territories across Canada. Charlottetown's event is part of a nation-wide celebration on August 26, with 200 coast to coast events taking place to celebrate the connection of The Great Trail.

Logan Richard BandLive music by Logan Richard:
Growing up in Stratford, PEI, music was always a driving force for Logan. After picking up the guitar at the age of 10, he quickly became known among the local blues crowd as a force to be reckoned with. At age 12, he formed a blues group with some friends, and the band played venues all over Prince Edward Island. Since then, Richard has been a part of a few other groups such as The Elusive Kings, and Generator. Logan is heading into the studio soon to start work on his debut demo EP. Taking inspiration and guidance from all past projects, the release is set to be full of heart felt songs that combine the genres he has created in the past.

Registration for this event is now full and has been closed. The City will be sending additional info to all the registered participants prior to the event.
