The next election will be held in November 2010.

The Electoral Boundaries Commission Report was released to the public by City Council on January 28, 2005.  We encourage all residents to review their ward map and note changes.  If you have any questions, please call City Hall at (902)566-5548 or Elections PEI at (902)368-5895.

A Councillor is elected in each of the 10 wards while all electors throughout the City elect the Mayor. The normal term of office for Mayor and Councillors is four years. When a vacancy occurs on Council, a by-election is held. City elections are regulated by the Election Bylaw passed under the authority of the Charlottetown Area Municipalities Act .
