Ashley MacIsaac

2010-03-20 When Ashley MacIsaac burst on the worldwide scene with 1995's Hi, How Are You Today? (A&M) he scored the kind of coup instrumental artists often dream of. Going triple-platinum in Canada and breaking down radio barriers with the Gaelic single "Sleepy Maggie," Ashley became an immediate pop icon, rebellious and exuberant, resplendent in kilts, army boots and combat pants. Copying from rockers' sensibilities, Ashley made an aesthetic of it onstage, effortlessly blending his Celtic heritage with contemporary elements such as punk, electronica, hip-hop and grunge. On this tour though, Ashley delves back to his Cape Breton roots, bringing to the stage an impressive array of traditional East Coast fiddle tunes - performed with a virtuosity not seen or heard from any other artist.

Classic Albums Live – The Beatles – The White Album

2010-04-08 Remember when you used to listen to an entire album? Classic Albums Live does. For the first time in popular music, the greatest albums from the 60s and 70s are recreated live on stage, note for note- cut for cut.
Each album calls for a new group of musicians. "That's the real challenge," says series producer, Craig Martin, "Finding the right musicians for the right album. So far we've been bang on with every performance." Members of Nelly Furtado, Moist, Jesse Cooke, Honeymoon Suite, David Usher and the Headstones have all taken part in the performances.
Classic Albums Live - a band of top Canadian musicians - recreates note for note, cut for cut one of the best-selling albums in history.
"No cheesy costumes, no bad impersonations!" - CBC "This is a Rock n' Roll recital!" - Toronto Sun
Both Rolling Stone magazine and Time magazine named this 1968 double album, The Beatles, widely known as The White Album, high on their lists of the top albums of all time!

Derek Edwards: It's A Blunderful Life!

2010-05-15 Derek Edwards' hilarious ruminations on his Blunderful Life is a wildly entertaining comedic expose by "a virtuoso at the peak of performance". With a wit and will forged in Northern Canada, he guides us through the pivotal life moments we're all confronted by in our 20s, 30s, 40s and on. Snapshots of the past and the world around us, skewed and imbued with a small town charm and tempered with an inimitable quirky perspective. Is it really wrong to extend a misspent youth that extra 30 years? It's A Blunderful Life! - common sense and an inspired sense of the ridiculous.
