Car Free Day
(Part of larger Cycling Week activity).
The City of Charlottetown is encouraging residents to participate in Car Free Day on Friday, June 9 by biking, walking or taking transit. Reducing commuter traffic, encouraging the use of public transit and increasing active lifestyles are all recognized as important goals in the City's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP). The carbon emissions of the city are greatly reduced when commuters use trails, bike paths or travel by public transit rather than traveling one person to a car and active forms of transportation contribute to the overall health and wellness of our community. We encourage everyone to use environmentally friendly options on Friday, June 9 to commute to and from work and throughout the day.
