2015-02-03 - Snow Removal Advisory

The City of Charlottetown Public Works Department expects snow removal to be a slow process today (February 3). The patience and cooperation of the public will be required as plows are just beginning to operate now that visibility has improved.

The RCMP is advising the public to remain off the roads. Nearly 60 centimetres of snow has been recorded at the Charlottetown Airport.

"The plows weren't able to start operations until just after 10 a.m. this morning so we're asking the public to have patience," said Councillor Terry Bernard, chair of the City's Public Works and Urban Beautification Committee. "We expect it will take most of the day to open the roads. We join the Police in asking the public to stay off the roads, if possible, to give crews a chance to get all of this snow cleaned up."
