The City of Charlottetown’s Wintertide Holiday Festival kicks off this week with the annual Wintertide Opening Ceremony and Tree Lighting on Friday, November 20.

The event begins at 6:15 p.m. at Province House (Grafton Street side) where free candles will be distributed for the Candlelight Walk to Confederation Centre Upper Plaza. The Christmas tree illumination will take place on the Upper Plaza at 6:30 p.m. Special guests include Father Christmas and the Confederation Centre Youth Choir.
To make this event possible, there will be a section of Grafton Street closed to vehicles on November 20. From 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., there will be no parking on Grafton Street between Queen Street and Great George Street. From 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. (or until the conclusion of the event), Grafton Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Queen and Great George streets.
