City launches new, user-friendly website
CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – Your capital City has a fresh new look online.
Charlottetown is officially launching its new, user-friendly website which the City hopes will help residents and visitors connect in a modern way to this historic municipality.
The new website www.city.charlottetown.pe.ca features a News and Notices section on the home page, which keeps the site’s content fresh and up-to-date, RSS feeds, a regularly updated events calendar, crisp, clean layout and a welcome message from a hologram of Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee.
"The goal of this website is to give our citizens as much current, valuable information as possible about the city we live and work in," said Mayor Lee.
Other interactive features of the site include job postings, tender documents, the ability to pay bills online, search heritage properties and interactive tools such as maps, an economic analyzer and electoral information. Along with the hiring of a new communications officer, the new site is part of the City’s attempt to enhance communication with its citizens.
The new site, which contains more than 200 pages of content, is more visually appealing and easier to navigate. Residents and visitors can use the site to sign up for the City's new electronic newsletters.
"We wanted the city’s website to reflect our history, our culture and our progressive attitude, to engage our citizens in their City," Lee said.
