Charlottetown will host the 2009 World Sledge Hockey Challenge, which will take place from November 17th-21st. All games will be played at the CARI Complex in Charlottetown.
Canada is the two-time defending champion at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge, having won the 2007 edition in Kelowna, B.C. in addition to last year’s championship in Charlottetown.
Canada will be joined by sledge hockey powers Japan, Norway and the United States. The teams will each play three round-robin games, with the top two teams playing for gold on the final day.
The 2009 World Sledge Hockey Challenge will be the final major international event for Canada’s National Sledge Team before the first puck drops at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver in March.
